What’s in Our Waste Bins?

Over the course of the past year Tanimoto, a former environmental consultant and current master’s student in Sustainability Management (SUMA), has been trying to find the answers to these questions. Working closely with Columbia’s Office of Environmental Stewardship, Facilities, and custodial staff, she’s researched and assessed waste on the CU
campus, literally digging through trash bins to learn more about what our community is throwing out and what happens to it.
